The center was established on June 7, 2021. The purpose of the center's establishment is to provide practical training in the fields of education to the students of the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department and the Civil Defense and Firefighting Department within the university. In addition, it aims to create essential disaster awareness by providing Basic Disaster Information, Fire and Light Search, and Rescue training to academic and administrative staff working at the university, especially university students.
Another goal is to support disaster risk reduction activities by considering the disaster risk of the province with strategic collaborations to be made with public institutions and organizations in Tokat province, and to produce information in this field and lead practical training to be carried out throughout the province.
To organize scientific meetings such as seminars, conferences, panels, congresses, and symposiums at national and international levels, to contribute and support their organization, and to participate in such activities.
To produce and implement scientific research and application projects and social responsibility projects supported and granted by national and international institutions and organizations by working in cooperation with non-governmental organizations operating in disaster management.
